Fluorescence Microscopy (Life Sciences)

Scientists use special glowing dyes (like "Texas Red" or "mCherry") to tag and study specific parts of microscopic cells. This filter acts as a perfect "emission filter." It captures the specific glowing orange/red light emitted by these dyes while using its high OD4 rating to completely block out all other harsh background light, making the cells light up clearly against a dark background.

Recommended light source:

• 561nm or 594nm Laser light source: highly concentrated and powerful, making it perfect for exciting the fluorescent dyes to glow brightly without bleeding into the filter's viewing window.
• Broad-spectrum LED (paired with an excitation filter) light source: a safer, more cost-effective option for general lab microscopes that still provides enough energy to make the cellular dyes glow.

Machine Vision and Automated Inspection

Factories use cameras to automatically check products on fast-moving conveyor belts. By equipping the camera with this filter and shining a matching colored light on the products, the camera easily ignores bright overhead factory lights, sunlight from windows, and moving shadows. It only "sees" the illuminated product, making automated quality checks incredibly stable and accurate.

Recommended light source:

• 590nm (Amber/Orange) LED Ring light source: highly energy-efficient, lasts a very long time, and perfectly matches the filter's "window" to create bright, high-contrast images of the inspected parts.
• Halogen lamp light source: produces a massive amount of warm light (heavy in yellows and reds), which is useful if you need to illuminate a very large area on the factory floor and are relying on the camera's filter to cut out the rest.
