Collection: Air Mass Filter for Solar Simulator

To meet diverse testing requirements, we offer three high-precision filters covering both research and industrial applications:
  • AM 1.5G (Global): Simulates global radiation (direct + diffuse light). Ideal for performance testing of most flat-plate solar cells and terrestrial PV modules
  • AM 1.5D (Direct): Simulates direct sunlight only, excluding diffuse sky radiation. Designed specifically for Concentrated Photovoltaic (CPV) systems
  • AM 0: Simulates the extraterrestrial solar spectrum. Engineered for space applications, such as satellite components and spacecraft material aging tests
  • "Air Mass" refers to the path length sunlight travels through the atmosphere to reach Earth's surface. As light traverses this path, the solar spectrum is modified by absorption and scattering from ozone, water vapor, and carbon dioxide.

  • Spectral accuracy is paramount in PV research. Although Xenon lamps mimic sunlight, they require correction for IR spikes and UV discrepancies. Our Air Mass (AM) filters use precision thin-film technology to shape the spectrum, suppressing excessive IR and balancing UV output to strictly meet ASTM and IEC standards.
