Filter Mount Construction

  • Mount with Threads

Threaded ring housing: This is the main component that holds the filter and washer together. It has a threaded section that allows it to be screwed onto a lens or other device.

Filter: This is the component that filters out unwanted wavelengths of light. It is typically made of a thin piece of glass or other material.

Washer: This is a circular gasket that seals the gap between the filter and the threaded ring housing. It helps to prevent leaks and improve the optical performance of the filter.

  • Mount without Threads

Ring housing: A circular component that surrounds the lens or optical device. It may have a lip or other feature to secure the filter in place.

Filter: The optical element that is placed within the ring housing.

Washer: A gasket or spacer that may be used to ensure a tight seal between the filter and the ring housing.
