Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy
1. Catalog Product Return Policy (14 Days)
Stocked (catalog) products with a unit price under USD 500 are eligible for return within 14 days after delivery.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a return, the product must be in original as-new condition:
- Unused
- Free of surface scratches, contamination, cleaning streaks, or mechanical damage
- In original protective packaging
Returned items will be inspected before any refund is approved.
2. No-Reason Return (Buyer’s Remorse)
If you request a return for reasons other than seller fault (e.g., change of mind or incorrect selection):
- Please email shop@syronoptics.com to request return authorization and the return address.
- Buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
- The item must be returned in unused, resalable condition with original packaging.
- Refund will be issued after inspection and approval of the returned item.
Shipping fees, customs duties, and taxes are non-refundable for no-reason returns.
3. Seller’s Fault (Defective / Wrong / Damaged Item)
If the return is due to seller error (defective product, wrong item shipped, or damage during transit):
Please contact shop@syronoptics.com and provide clear evidence (photos or videos) of the issue.
After evaluation, we will either:
- Request the item to be returned and issue a refund or replacement, or
- Issue a refund without requiring the item to be returned.
In confirmed seller-fault cases, Syron Optics will cover the return shipping cost.
4. Custom & Non-Catalog Products
Custom-manufactured products (including special sizes, custom coatings, or bespoke spectral designs) are non-returnable and non-refundable, as they are produced according to customer specifications.
Returns will only be accepted if the product is proven to be non-compliant with the agreed manufacturing specifications at the time of order.
5. Limited Technical Warranty (1 Year)
Syron Optics warrants that all products (catalog and custom) will meet the agreed spectral specifications (CWL, FWHM, transmission/blocking) for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery.
This warranty covers manufacturing defects such as coating failure or material aging.
6. Exclusion: Laser-Induced Damage
This warranty does not cover damage caused by laser exposure.
The buyer is responsible for ensuring that laser fluence, peak power, and average power density do not exceed the Laser Induced Damage Threshold (LIDT) of the component.
Damage such as pitting, charring, localized melting, or coating burn-through is considered improper application and is not eligible for return, refund, or replacement.
7. Inspection & Refund Processing
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact shop@syronoptics.com immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect.
Once the returned item is received and inspected, we will notify you of approval status.
If approved, the refund will be issued to the original payment method within 10 business days.
Right of Withdrawal (EU Customers)
If you are a consumer located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving any reason.
This right does not apply to:
- Orders placed by businesses, institutions, or organisations (B2B transactions)
- Products made to your custom specifications or clearly personalised orders
- Products that have been used, damaged, or are not in their original condition

You must return the product within 14 days of notifying us. Return shipping costs are at your expense. We recommend using a tracked shipping service as we cannot be held responsible for items lost in transit.
Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned item, provided it is in original, unused condition. We reserve the right to deduct from the refund if the product shows signs of use or damage beyond normal inspection.
