• DFB Laser Diode (1550 nm / C-Band): Delivers a high-stability, narrow-linewidth signal that aligns with the center of the BP1555-90 filter; this spectral purity ensures the specific pilot tone or data channel passes with minimal attenuation, allowing the filter to effectively strip away the broadband ASE noise generated by the amplifier.
• Tunable Laser Source (TLS): Offers the flexibility to precisely select wavelengths within the 1530–1565 nm C-Band window; advantageous for pilot signal systems where the supervisory wavelength must be dynamically positioned to avoid interference with active DWDM data channels while remaining within the filter's passband.

SWIR Imaging & Inspection - Semiconductor Inspection

Silicon is transparent at wavelengths >1100 nm. A 1555 nm filter allows cameras to "see through" silicon wafers to inspect circuitry or bonding alignment on the back side.

Recommended Light Sources

• SWIR LED Illuminator (1550 nm Backlight/Coaxial): Emits cool, monochromatic light directly within the transparency window of silicon; this prevents thermal damage to delicate wafers (a risk with hot halogen lamps) and ensures sharp contrast by eliminating chromatic aberration in the optical system.
• Halogen/Tungsten Lamp: Delivers high-intensity broadband power capable of penetrating thicker or heavily doped silicon wafers; the BP1555-90 filter is essential here to block the massive amounts of visible glare and excess heat, passing only the necessary 1555 nm imaging capability to the sensor.
