1. Eligible Products

Stocked (catalog) products with a unit price under USD 500 are eligible for return within 14 days after delivery.

Custom-made or non-stock items are not eligible for no-reason returns.

2. No-Reason Return (Buyer’s Remorse)

If you wish to return an item for reasons other than product defect or seller error:

  • Please email shop@syronoptics.com to request a return authorization and return address.
  • Buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
  • Items must be unused, in original condition, and with original packaging.
  • Refund will be issued after inspection of the returned item.

3. Seller’s Fault (Defective / Wrong / Damaged Item)

If the return is due to seller error (defective product, wrong item shipped, or damage during shipping):

Please provide clear evidence (photos or videos) showing the issue.

We will evaluate the case and either:

  • Provide a replacement, or
    Issue a refund (with or without requiring the item to be returned).
  • Return shipping cost will be covered by the seller in confirmed seller-fault cases.

4. Important Notes

  • Returned items are subject to inspection before refund approval.
  • Shipping fees, customs duties, and taxes are non-refundable unless the return is due to seller fault.

    Fluorescence Microscopy (Excitation Filter)

    • How it works: In fluorescence, you hit a sample with UV light (excitation), and it glows visible colors (emission). If any visible light leaks from your UV source, it will drown out the faint glow of the sample.
    • Role of this filter: Placed in front of the light source to ensure pure 365nm light hits the sample, with absolutely no visible light contamination.
    • Specific Use: Viewing DAPI stains (DNA analysis), cell imaging, or fluorescent tracers.

    Recommended Light Sources

    • High-Power UV LED (365nm)

    This is the modern standard for fluorescence. LEDs are naturally narrow-band. A 365nm LED emits almost all its energy near 365nm.

    • Mercury (Hg) Arc Lamp

    This is the traditional, high-intensity standard. Mercury lamps have massive natural emission peaks (spectral lines). One of the strongest is the "i-line" at exactly 365.4 nm.

    • How it works: Some features are only visible in UV light (e.g., bruising on skin, counterfeit banknote security strips, surface defects on wafers).
    • Role of this filter: Placed on the camera lens. It forces the camera to ignore all visible room light and see only the UV light reflecting off the object.

    Recommended Light Sources

    • High-Intensity 365nm LED Illuminators

    This is the gold standard for forensics and industrial inspection. Often handheld "torches" for crime scenes or mounted panels for conveyor belts. These LEDs emit a very narrow spike of energy centered exactly at 365nm.

    • UV Ring Lights (Shadow-Free Illumination)

    For detecting surface defects on wafers or small biological samples, a UV LED Ring Light is used. The ring light fits around the camera lens (behind the filter). It provides uniform, shadow-free UV illumination.
