Industrial Laser Welding/Marking Inspection

In manufacturing, cameras are used to watch machines weld or engrave metal in real-time. These machines often use powerful, invisible infrared lasers (like Nd:YAG lasers, which operate at 1064nm) to do the cutting. Without a filter, the intense invisible laser would blind or damage the camera. This filter shields the camera by blocking the dangerous 1064nm laser (which falls in the 960-1200nm blocking zone) while letting normal visible light through so the camera can clearly see the metal parts being worked on.

Recommended light source:

• White LED Ring Lights: They provide bright, even, visible light that easily passes through the filter's 450-800nm window, allowing the camera to see the physical parts clearly without casting shadows or heating up the workspace.
• Halogen Lamps: They offer a very natural, broad spectrum of visible light. This is highly advantageous if the camera needs to see highly accurate, true-to-life colors during the quality inspection process.

Medical Laser Surgery Observation

During certain modern surgeries or dental procedures, doctors use high-powered infrared lasers to precisely cut or treat tissue. A camera is often attached to a medical microscope so the surgical team can watch on a monitor. This filter protects the camera sensor from being overwhelmed by the invisible surgical laser, ensuring the screen doesn't just show a massive blinding glare, while letting the visible colors of the tissue and blood pass through clearly.

Recommended light source:

• Standard Surgical LED Lights: They produce brilliant, cool-temperature visible light that easily passes right through the filter, showing the true colors of human tissue without exposing the patient to extra heat.
• Xenon Arc Lamps: Often used in fiber-optic medical tools (like endoscopes), they provide an extremely intense, pure white light that illuminates tiny, dark spaces perfectly for the camera to capture through the filter.
