Recommended Light Sources

This ensures bright, high-contrast inspection images while remaining completely distinct from the blocked SWIR (1310/1550nm) laser noise.
• 630nm or 660nm Red LEDs: Located safely within the passband (starting at 595nm), these provide visible illumination which can be useful for manual alignment or operator verification, while still offering high transmission efficiency to the camera.

Optimizing Silicon Sensors (CMOS/CCD)

Standard Silicon sensors lose sensitivity rapidly after 1000nm and become transparent/noisy. However, strong SWIR radiation (heat or ambient IR) can still cause thermal noise or "ghosting" in the image.

• Application: High-precision inspection in hot environments (e.g., glass or metal manufacturing) where you want to image the product using NIR light but block the longer thermal radiation wavelengths (1200nm+) that might wash out the contrast.

Recommended Light Sources
