Can optical filters be supplied with threaded mounts for system integration?
Share
Syron Optics provides several mounting options for their optical filters to facilitate seamless system integration. Filters can be supplied with various threaded mounts, which are standardized for common laboratory, camera, and industrial applications.
Available threaded mounting systems typically include:
- Metric Threads: A wide range of metric sizes such as M12×0.5, M25×0.75, M27×0.5, M30.5×0.5, and larger sizes up to M77×0.75. These are frequently used in European and Asian optical systems and standard camera lens accessories.
- Imperial Threads: Standards like SM1 (1.035"-40), SM05 (0.535"-40), and SM2 (2.035"-40) are available.()These are standard in North American laboratory equipment (such as Thorlabs-compatible systems) for connecting lens tubes and adapters.
- C-Mount: Standard 1"-32 TPI threading is supported, which is the primary mounting standard for machine vision and CCTV camera systems.
In addition to these threaded options, filters can also be provided as:
- Unmounted: Raw filter glass in custom thicknesses (e.g., 0.5mm to 2.0mm).
- Non-Threaded Mounts: Slip-on or press-fit mechanisms.
- System-Specific Assemblies: Such as microscope filter cubes or filter wheels for automated setups.
For specific integration needs, custom sizing is also available for dimensions from 3x3mm up to 60x60mm, ensuring the filter fits perfectly within your existing mechanical housing.
