Violet light has a wavelength ranging from approximately 380 to 450 nanometers (nm).

Because it sits at the very bottom edge of the visible spectrum, it has the shortest wavelength and the highest frequency of all visible colors. This characteristic means that violet light bends, or refracts, the most when passing through dispersive optical components like prisms.
