CWL Shift due to AOI Changes Calculator (For Optical Filters)
Share
Using below simulator, you can figure out a rough Center Wavelength Shift with different Angle of Incidence (AOI).
- AOI Should not be larger than 45deg
- Center Wavelength should be from 350 - 10500nm
- Effective Refractive Index are relevant with Coating Design.
> You can assume ri = 1.5-1.8 for regular coating design
> You can assume ri = 2.0 - 2.3 for variable AOI coating design
Where:
- λθ = wavelength corresponding to the feature of interest at incident angle θ\thetaθ
- λ0 = wavelength corresponding to the feature of interest at normal incidence
- n0 = refractive index of incident medium
- neff = effective refractive index of the optical filter
- θ = angle of incidence
