  • BP1064-1 Bandpass Filter - Nd:YAG Laser Systems

    BP1064-1 Bandpass Filter - Nd:YAG Laser Systems

    Nd:YAG Laser Systems

This is the most common use. The filter cleans up the laser output by removing pump light (flashlamp or diode glow) and background radiation, ensuring only the 1064 nm beam remains.

    Recommend Light Sources

    • Nd:YAG Lasers (Neodymium-doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet): The industry standard solid-state laser source for this wavelength.
    • Yb-doped Fiber Lasers (Ytterbium): Many fiber lasers operate in the 1060–1080 nm range and are compatible if tuned to 1064 nm.
    • 1064 nm Laser Diodes: Compact semiconductor lasers used for rangefinding and pointer applications.
    • 1064 nm LEDs: High-power infrared LEDs are used for machine vision illumination (e.g., license plate recognition or inspection), though they have a broader bandwidth than lasers.
  • BP1064-1 Bandpass Filter - Laser Safety & Sensor Protection

BP1064-1 Bandpass Filter - Laser Safety & Sensor Protection

    Laser Safety & Sensor Protection

It protects sensitive sensors or cameras by blocking ambient sunlight and visible light while allowing the 1064 nm laser signal to be detected.

    Recommend Light Sources

    • Nd:YAG Laser (Neodymium-doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet)

Why it's recommended: This is the industry standard for generating 1064 nm light. It produces a very precise, narrow wavelength that passes through the BP1064-1 filter with maximum efficiency (~90% transmission).

Use Case: Ideal for high-power applications where the sensor needs to detect a laser designator, rangefinder pulse, or industrial beam while ignoring bright sunlight.

    • High-Power 1064 nm Laser Diode

Why it's recommended: These are compact and efficient semiconductor lasers tailored to emit exactly at 1064 nm.

Use Case: Best for smaller, portable devices like LIDAR sensors or proximity detectors where size and power consumption are critical.

Fequently Asked Questions

What are the Thickness of the Optical Filters?

For standard mounting (mounted,non-thread):

  • 3.5mm (by default)
  • 6mm (by request)

For unmounted Optics:

  • 0.5mm
  • 1.1mm
  • 2mm

(most of the unmounted optics are having thickness of 1.1mm ~ 2mm)

What is the difference between mountings?

Unmounted:

  • a bare glass optical filter

Mounted:

  • Smooth Mount for protection of the optics. No thread is there on the mount.

Metric Mount:

  • Start with M as prefix, usually seens as M25.5x0.5mm. Mostly used as camera filters

Imperial Mount:

  • Start with SM as prefix, usually seen SM1, SM05 etc... Mostly used in Optical system. (You will have a SM external thread to connecting to other objects)

C-Mount:

  • Very frequently used mounting. C-Mount is 1‘’-32TPI. And it is not the same thing as SM1, or M25.5x0.5mm.
  • dia12.5mm(mounted)

    Clear Aperture:

    dia9mm

    Mounting Thickness:

    3.5mm
