If the return is due to seller error (defective product, wrong item shipped, or damage during shipping):

Please provide clear evidence (photos or videos) showing the issue.

We will evaluate the case and either:

  • Provide a replacement, or
Issue a refund (with or without requiring the item to be returned).
  • Return shipping cost will be covered by the seller in confirmed seller-fault cases.

4. Important Notes

  • Returned items are subject to inspection before refund approval.
  • Shipping fees, customs duties, and taxes are non-refundable unless the return is due to seller fault.
  • Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.

Custom Sizing

Custom sizing is available from 3 × 3 mm (or Ø5 mm) up to 60 × 60 mm. For custom cut sizes, please contact shop@syronoptics.com for a quotation.

Pricing is not significantly lower for small-size orders in low quantities due to operational costs.

  • BP240-10 Bandpass Filter - Solar-Blind Imaging & Detection

    BP240-10 Bandpass Filter - Solar-Blind Imaging & Detection

    Solar-Blind Imaging & Detection

    • Corona Discharge Detection: High-voltage power lines and transformers emit weak UV light (corona) when they are failing. A camera equipped with a BP240-10 filter can see this "invisible" electrical fire even in bright daylight because the filter blocks the sun (visible/IR) and admits only the UV signal.
    • Flame Detection: Hydrogen and hydrocarbon flames emit specific UV signatures. Fire sensors use this filter to detect flames instantly without being triggered by sunlight or hot objects (blackbody radiation).

    Recommended Light Sources

    For Corona Discharge Detection

    • Corona Discharge (Ionized Nitrogen): The electrical breakdown of air naturally acts as the light source by emitting deep UV photons; this allows the camera to pinpoint the exact location of the fault without needing any external illumination.

    For Flame Detection

    • Flame Emission (Combustion Radicals): The chemical reaction of burning fuel acts as the light source by emitting specific UV signatures (from OH radicals), providing a unique signal that allows the sensor to distinguish a fire from sunlight or hot objects.

    Semiconductor & Industrial Inspection

    • Used in systems utilizing deep UV to detect surface defects on wafers, as short wavelengths scatter more strongly off nano-scale particles than visible light does.

    Recommended Light Sources

    • Deep UV Laser (e.g., 266nm solid-state or frequency-doubled Argon/Eximer): Provides high-intensity, coherent light that maximizes scattering efficiency off nano-scale defects, allowing for faster scanning speeds and higher throughput in automated inspection systems.
    • Laser-Driven Plasma (LDP) Source: Delivers extremely high brightness across the deep UV spectrum (broadband), enabling the detection of smaller defects than conventional lamps by simulating a point source similar to a laser but with broader spectral coverage.
    • Deuterium Lamp (D2 Lamp): Offers a stable, continuous UV spectrum for applications where lower intensity is acceptable, providing consistent illumination without the speckle noise associated with lasers, which is useful for imaging larger area defects.

Fequently Asked Questions

Different Types of Filter Mountings

Unmounted:

  • a bare glass optical filter

Mounted:

  • Smooth Mount for protection of the optics. No thread is there on the mount.

Metric Mount:

  • Start with M as prefix, usually seens as M25.5x0.5mm. Mostly used as camera filters

Imperial Mount:

  • Start with SM as prefix, usually seen SM1, SM05 etc... Mostly used in Optical system. (You will have a SM external thread to connecting to other objects)

C-Mount:

  • Very frequently used mounting. C-Mount is 1‘’-32TPI. And it is not the same thing as SM1, or M25.5x0.5mm.

What are the Thickness of the Optical Filters?

For Unmounted Optics:

  • 0.5mm
  • 1.1mm
  • 2.0mm

*Most of our optics are coming with 1.1mm and 2.0mm
