BP330-10 Bandpass Filter - Forensics and Art Inspection
Forensics and Art Inspection
Investigators and art historians use this exact wavelength of UV light to spot things the naked eye cannot see. It can reveal forged signatures on paintings, hidden chemical traces at a crime scene, or alterations in important documents by making specific hidden materials glow.
Recommended light source:
- Xenon Flash Lamp light source: Delivers an incredibly bright, intense burst of light (like a camera flash) that is great for taking clear, high-contrast UV photographs.
- Broad UV-A Blacklight light source: A portable and cost-effective option that allows investigators to scan large areas, relying on the filter to block out everything but the exact 330nm target.

BP330-10 Bandpass Filter - Environmental Gas Monitoring
Environmental Gas Monitoring
Used inside air quality sensors to detect invisible pollution. Certain gases and chemicals absorb very specific wavelengths of UV light. By shining 330nm light through an air sample and using this filter to measure exactly how much light makes it to the other side, scientists can calculate how much of a specific gas is in the air.
Recommended light source:
- Deuterium Lamp light source: Produces a highly stable and smooth continuous glow of UV light, which is absolutely critical for taking highly accurate chemical measurements.
- Compact UV-LED light source: Small, rugged, and uses very little battery power, making it the perfect choice for remote, outdoor air-monitoring stations.
Fequently Asked Questions
Will this filter work at an angle?
This filter is optimized for near normal incidence. At larger angles, the center wavelength may shift, which can affect performance. If your system operates at an angle, we recommend validating with a sample.
Can I stack this filter with other filters?
Yes, filters can be stacked to achieve additional blocking or spectral shaping. However, stacking may introduce reflection losses and should be tested in your system.
Can I request a custom wavelength or size?
Yes, we support custom center wavelength (CWL), bandwidth (FWHM), dimensions, and mounting options. Contact us with your requirements for recommendations.
What is the difference between mounted and unmounted filters?
Unmounted filters are bare optics suitable if you already have a holder. Mounted filters come in an anodized aluminum ring (with or without threading) for easier system integration.
