  • BP410-10 Bandpass Filter - UV/Violet Fluorescence Imaging

    BP410-10 Bandpass Filter - UV/Violet Fluorescence Imaging

    UV/Violet Fluorescence Imaging

Many materials (like glues, optical brighteners in paper/fabric, or security inks) fluoresce when hit with UV light. This filter can be placed over a camera to block the excitation UV light (if checking emission) or, more likely with this specific wavelength, to clean up the excitation source or image features that specifically reflect 410nm light.

    Recommended Light Sources

    • High-Power Violet LED (405 nm – 410 nm): LEDs provide the stable, high-intensity area illumination required to excite fluorescence in bulk materials like glues or paper; the BP410-10 filter is essential to "clean up" the LED's naturally broad spectral tail, ensuring that only pure excitation light hits the sample so that no stray source light leaks into the camera to wash out the faint fluorescence signal.

    3D Printing (SLA/DLP)

    • Some resin curing systems utilize 405nm lasers or LEDs. A 410-10 filter can be used in monitoring systems to block ambient light while strictly monitoring the curing laser intensity.

    Recommended Light Sources

    • 405 nm Laser Diode / UV LED: These sources provide the specific wavelength required to cure the resin; pairing them with a BP410-10 filter allows the monitoring sensor to optically isolate the curing signal from broad-spectrum ambient room lighting, ensuring that the sensor measures only the active curing energy for precise process control.

Fequently Asked Questions

What are the Thickness of the Optical Filters?

For standard mounting (mounted,non-thread):

  • 3.5mm (by default)
  • 6mm (by request)

For unmounted Optics:

  • 0.5mm
  • 1.1mm
  • 2mm

(most of the unmounted optics are having thickness of 1.1mm ~ 2mm)

What is the difference between mountings?

Unmounted:

  • a bare glass optical filter

Mounted:

  • Smooth Mount for protection of the optics. No thread is there on the mount.

Metric Mount:

  • Start with M as prefix, usually seens as M25.5x0.5mm. Mostly used as camera filters

Imperial Mount:

  • Start with SM as prefix, usually seen SM1, SM05 etc... Mostly used in Optical system. (You will have a SM external thread to connecting to other objects)

C-Mount:

  • Very frequently used mounting. C-Mount is 1‘’-32TPI. And it is not the same thing as SM1, or M25.5x0.5mm.
  • dia12.5mm(mounted)

    Clear Aperture:

    dia9mm

    Mounting Thickness:

    3.5mm
