Custom-made or non-stock items are not eligible for no-reason returns.

2. No-Reason Return (Buyer’s Remorse)

If you wish to return an item for reasons other than product defect or seller error:

  • Please email shop@syronoptics.com to request a return authorization and return address.
  • Buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
  • Items must be unused, in original condition, and with original packaging.
  • Refund will be issued after inspection of the returned item.

3. Seller’s Fault (Defective / Wrong / Damaged Item)

If the return is due to seller error (defective product, wrong item shipped, or damage during shipping):

Please provide clear evidence (photos or videos) showing the issue.

We will evaluate the case and either:

  • Provide a replacement, or
Issue a refund (with or without requiring the item to be returned).
  • Return shipping cost will be covered by the seller in confirmed seller-fault cases.

4. Important Notes

  • Returned items are subject to inspection before refund approval.
  • Shipping fees, customs duties, and taxes are non-refundable unless the return is due to seller fault.
  • Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.

Custom Sizing

Custom sizing is available from 3 × 3 mm (or Ø5 mm) up to 60 × 60 mm. For custom cut sizes, please contact shop@syronoptics.com for a quotation.

Pricing is not significantly lower for small-size orders in low quantities due to operational costs.

  • BP560-40 Bandpass Filter - Fluorescence Microscopy (Excitation)

BP560-40 Bandpass Filter - Fluorescence Microscopy (Excitation)

    Fluorescence Microscopy (Excitation)

    • This is an ideal Excitation Filter for red-emitting fluorophores. It isolates the green excitation light needed to energize dyes that emit in the orange/red spectrum.
    • Target Fluorophores: Cy3, TRITC (Tetramethylrhodamine), RFP (Red Fluorescent Protein), DsRed, and Phycoerythrin (PE).

    Recommended Light Sources

    1. Mercury (Hg) Arc Lamps

This is the traditional "workhorse" for this specific application.

    • Why it works: Mercury lamps have a distinct, very powerful emission spike at 546 nm (the "e-line").
    • The Fit: The BP560-40 filter is perfectly centered to capture this intense 546 nm peak while blocking the UV and blue lines that would cause background noise. This provides efficient, bright excitation for TRITC and Cy3.

    2. Solid-State Lasers (561 nm)

For confocal or high-end systems, a 561 nm DPSS or OPSL laser is the standard choice.

    • Why it works: These lasers emit a single, pure wavelength at 561 nm.
    • The Fit: The 561 nm line falls squarely in the middle of the filter's 40nm bandwidth. The filter transmits nearly 100% of this laser energy while blocking any "pump noise" or spontaneous emission from the laser cavity.

    3. High-Power Green LEDs

Modern wide-field microscopes increasingly use LED light engines.

    • Why it works: You would use a "Green" or "Lime-Green" LED, typically centered around 550 nm or 565 nm.
    • The Fit: LEDs have a broader spectral tail. The BP560-40 "trims" the LED output, discarding the edges of the spectrum that might bleed into your detection channel, ensuring only the excitation wavelengths hit the sample.
  • BP560-40 Bandpass Filter - Laser Line Cleanup

BP560-40 Bandpass Filter - Laser Line Cleanup

    Laser Line Cleanup

Used to "clean up" the spectral output of 561 nm solid-state lasers, removing any unwanted spontaneous emission or pump light, ensuring only the pure 561 nm line reaches the sample.

    Recommended Light Sources

    • For the Laser Line Cleanup application, the "recommended light source" is the device being filtered itself: a 561 nm Solid-State Laser.

Fequently Asked Questions

Different Types of Filter Mountings

Unmounted:

  • a bare glass optical filter

Mounted:

  • Smooth Mount for protection of the optics. No thread is there on the mount.

Metric Mount:

  • Start with M as prefix, usually seens as M25.5x0.5mm. Mostly used as camera filters

Imperial Mount:

  • Start with SM as prefix, usually seen SM1, SM05 etc... Mostly used in Optical system. (You will have a SM external thread to connecting to other objects)

C-Mount:

  • Very frequently used mounting. C-Mount is 1‘’-32TPI. And it is not the same thing as SM1, or M25.5x0.5mm.

What are the Thickness of the Optical Filters?

For Unmounted Optics:

  • 0.5mm
  • 1.1mm
  • 2.0mm
