  • BP625-135 Bandpass Filter - Multi-Color Imaging (Machine Vision)

BP625-135 Bandpass Filter - Multi-Color Imaging (Machine Vision)

    Multi-Color Imaging (Machine Vision):

    • Ideal for imaging scenes where you need to see Yellow, Orange, and Red objects simultaneously, but want to block Blue/UV haze and Near-IR interference.
    • Useful for sorting applications (e.g., separating red/orange fruits or products from green ones).

    Recommended Light Sources

For General Imaging / Machine Vision:

    • White LED / Broadband Halogen: The filter will cut out the blue/green and IR components, leaving only the "warm" colors. This is useful for contrast enhancement (e.g., making red print on a white background appear bright white while blue background turns dark).
    • Multiple LED Arrays: You can use a combination of Orange (590 nm/617 nm), Red (625 nm/630 nm), and Deep Red (660 nm) LEDs. This filter will pass all of these wavelengths simultaneously, allowing you to switch between specific illuminators without changing the filter.
  • BP625-135 Bandpass Filter - Broadband Spectroscopy

BP625-135 Bandpass Filter - Broadband Spectroscopy

    Broadband Spectroscopy:

    • Used to isolate the red/yellow spectral region for analysis while eliminating noise from UV and IR sources.

    Recommended Light Sources

    1. Quartz Tungsten Halogen (QTH) Lamp

This is the "gold standard" for spectroscopy in the visible/near-infrared region.

    • Why it is ideal: It provides a perfectly smooth, continuous spectrum across the entire Yellow, Orange, and Red range (unlike LEDs, which can have spectral peaks and valleys).
    • How it pairs with the filter: QTH lamps naturally emit massive amounts of heat (Infrared). The BP625-135 is crucial here because it blocks that unwanted IR heat (preventing detector saturation or damage) while passing the rich, stable warm-visible light needed for analysis.

    2. High-CRI "Warm White" LED

    • Why it is ideal: A "Warm White" (3000K or lower) LED uses heavy phosphors to generate a broad spectrum specifically in the Red/Yellow region.
    • How it pairs with the filter: Standard white LEDs have a sharp "Blue" spike (around 450nm) that can cause noise in red-sensitive measurements. The BP625-135 completely cuts off that blue spike, leaving only the broad, useful phosphor emission for your analysis.

Fequently Asked Questions

Different Types of Filter Mountings

Unmounted:

  • a bare glass optical filter

Mounted:

  • Smooth Mount for protection of the optics. No thread is there on the mount.

Metric Mount:

  • Start with M as prefix, usually seens as M25.5x0.5mm. Mostly used as camera filters

Imperial Mount:

  • Start with SM as prefix, usually seen SM1, SM05 etc... Mostly used in Optical system. (You will have a SM external thread to connecting to other objects)

C-Mount:

  • Very frequently used mounting. C-Mount is 1‘’-32TPI. And it is not the same thing as SM1, or M25.5x0.5mm.

What are the Thickness of the Optical Filters?

For Unmounted Optics:

  • 0.5mm
  • 1.1mm
  • 2.0mm

*Most of our optics are coming with 1.1mm and 2.0mm
