This LP785 longpass filter is designed to transmit wavelengths longer than the cut-on region while reducing shorter-wavelength light. It is suitable for infrared sensing, optical detection, and machine vision systems where longer-wavelength signal needs to be separated from visible or shorter-wavelength NIR background. It helps separate longer-wavelength infrared signal from shorter-wavelength background and protect detectors from unwanted radiation.
Key specifications:
- Wavelength / main spec: 785 nm cut-on wavelength
- Bandwidth / transition spec: See specification table for transition characteristics
- Transmission / blocking: T>85% from 795-1750 nm ; OD5 from 200-775 nm
- Format / custom option: Available in 25.4 mm diameter and 60x60mm, mounting options

LP785 Longpass Filter - Chemical Analysis (Raman Spectroscopy)
Chemical Analysis (Raman Spectroscopy)
This technique is used to figure out what a mystery powder, liquid, or material is made of. You shine a specific laser at the material, and the material bounces back a very faint, "color-shifted" light that acts like a chemical fingerprint. This filter is specifically designed to block the dangerously bright, blinding glare of the main laser beam while letting the faint, shifted fingerprint light pass through to the camera.
Recommended light source:
- 785nm Diode Laser: This is the industry standard for this exact filter. The filter's cutoff is perfectly designed to block this exact laser while catching the chemical signals right next to it.
- 785nm DPSS (Solid-State) Laser: This offers a cleaner, more stable beam than a standard diode laser, which gives a clearer, sharper chemical reading in high-end laboratory equipment.

LP785 Longpass Filter - Medical & Biological Fluorescence Imaging
Medical & Biological Fluorescence Imaging
Doctors and scientists use special dyes (like ICG) that glow in the dark when hit with a certain light. They inject this dye to highlight blood vessels or tumors during surgery. This filter is used on the surgical camera. It completely blocks out the bright light used to "wake up" the dye, ensuring the camera only sees the faint, invisible glowing signal coming from the tissue.
Recommended light source:
- 740nm to 760nm LEDs: These lights are perfect for providing the energy to make the biological dyes glow. Because their wavelength is under 775nm, the filter will 100% block them from blinding the camera.
- 785nm Lasers: Similar to LEDs, but used when the doctor needs a highly concentrated, focused beam of light to make a very specific tiny area of tissue glow.
