LP910 Longpass Filter - Covert Surveillance & Night Vision
Covert Surveillance & Night Vision
This is one of the most common applications for a 910nm cut-on filter.
Standard night vision often uses 850nm illumination, which produces a faint but visible red glow ("red tail") at the source. For covert operations where the camera must remain completely undetectable, 940nm illumination is used because it is invisible to the human eye. The LP910 filter is placed over the sensor to block visible light and any stray signal from 850nm sources, ensuring the camera only sees the "invisible" 940nm light.
Recommended Light Source
- 940nm LEDs: These are the standard illuminators for covert security cameras.
- 980nm Laser Diodes: Used for longer-range illumination.

LP910 Longpass Filter - Nd:YAG Laser System "Cleanup"
Nd:YAG Laser System "Cleanup"
- The Application: Nd:YAG lasers emit at 1064nm but are often pumped by diode lasers operating at 808nm. In optical systems using these lasers, it is critical to block the remaining 808nm pump light to prevent it from interfering with the measurement or heating the target, while allowing the 1064nm beam to pass with high efficiency.
Recommended Light Source:Nd
- YAG Laser (1064nm): The filter transmits the main beam (>95%).
- Fiber Lasers (1030–1070nm): Common in industrial cutting and marking.
