MVBP815-20 Bandpass Filter(CWL=815nm,FWHM=20nm)

The MVBP815-20 is a specialized optical filter, often used in machine vision (MV) or medical imaging cameras. It is designed to only allow a very specific type of invisible, near-infrared light (815nm) to pass through to the camera sensor. At the same time, it strongly blocks out almost all other light, including sunlight, regular room lights, and ultraviolet rays. This ensures the camera only "sees" exactly what you want it to see without being blinded by background glare.

Application - Medical & Biological Imaging (ICG Fluorescence)

Doctors and researchers use a special medical dye called Indocyanine Green (ICG) to highlight blood vessels, tumors, or lymph nodes during surgery. When you shine a specific light on this dye, it absorbs the energy and "glows" (fluoresces) at around 815nm. By putting this filter on a surgical camera, the surgeon can easily see the glowing dye on a monitor, while the filter blocks out the intensely bright white lights used in the operating room.

Recommended light source:

• 780nm or 785nm Near-Infrared LED/Laser: This specific wavelength of light is perfect for "waking up" the ICG dye to make it glow. Because 780nm is outside the filter's 805-825nm window, the camera won't see the light source itself, only the glow coming from the dye.
• Broadband Halogen Light (with an excitation filter): These are already standard in many operating rooms. By simply placing a different filter over the light bulb to block its 815nm rays, it can safely excite the dye while remaining highly cost-effective.

Application - Machine Vision & Quality Control (Inspecting Dark Plastics/Liquids)

In manufacturing, cameras are used to inspect products on fast-moving conveyor belts. Human eyes and regular cameras cannot easily see through dark plastics or dark liquids. However, near-infrared light at 815nm can pass right through many of these materials. This filter allows the inspection camera to "see inside" dark plastic bottles to check fill levels or look for defects, while blocking out the glare from the factory's overhead lights or windows.

Recommended light source:

• 810nm or 815nm LED Ring Light: It perfectly matches the filter's "window." It provides bright, even illumination directly onto the product. Because it's invisible to humans, it won't flash brightly and distract the workers on the factory floor.
• 815nm LED Backlight: Placed behind the object, this light shines right through the dark plastic into the filtered camera, creating a perfect high-contrast silhouette that makes it very easy for computer software to measure liquid levels or find internal cracks.
