ORANGE Filter Set for TRITC - Fluorophores

ORANGE Filter Set for TRITC - Fluorophores

Fluorophores

  • TRITC (Tetramethylrhodamine): The classic target. It emits a bright orange-red glow.
  • Cy3 (Cyanine 3): Very common alternative to TRITC; this filter set is highly efficient for Cy3.
  • Alexa Fluor 546 / 555: Brighter, more stable modern alternatives to TRITC.
  • DsRed / RFP (Red Fluorescent Protein): Often usable, though the excitation peak of RFP (558 nm) is slightly on the edge of your excitation filter (545/25).
  • Propidium Iodide (PI): A DNA stain used to identify dead cells.

Recommended Light Sources

  • Mercury Arc Lamp (HBO): These lamps have a massive spectral peak exactly at 546 nm, which matches the center of your excitation filter perfectly.
  • Green LED (High Power): Look for LEDs centered at 540 nm, 545 nm, or 550 nm. These are efficient, cool, and stable. (Avoid "Lime" LEDs if they center closer to 565 nm).
  • Metal Halide Lamp: Provides strong green output, though generally less intense at the specific 546 nm peak than Mercury.
  • Lasers (532 nm): A solid-state green laser at 532 nm fits just inside the excitation window.

ORANGE Filter Set for TRITC - FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization)

FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization)

Detecting specific gene sequences on chromosomes using orange probes.

Recommended Light Sources

  • Mercury Arc Lamp (HBO): Mercury lamps have a massive, natural spectral peak at exactly 546 nm. Your excitation filter (BP545/25) is engineered specifically to capture this intense peak. This results in the highest possible excitation energy for orange probes, making faint gene signals pop against the background.
  • High-Power Green/Lime LED: Modern LEDs are replacing mercury lamps for FISH due to their stability, which is crucial when trying to capture images of tiny, faint chromosomal dots without them flickering or fading.
  • Laser Sources - 532 nm Solid State Laser: This fits just inside the lower edge of your filter window and works well for TRITC/Cy3.

Product Faqs

Can you confirm if this product fits my system?

Yes. Send us your wavelength, size, optical setup, and application. We can help check whether this product is suitable or suggest an alternative.

Can I request additional data or drawings?

Yes. Transmission curves, drawings, or additional specifications may be available on request depending on the product.

Can this product be customized?

Some products can be customized by size, mounting, wavelength, coating, or package. Custom availability depends on the product type and project requirements.

What if I cannot find the exact option I need?

Contact us with your target specification. We can check stocked alternatives or advise whether a custom option is possible.

Not sure if this filter set fits your microscope or application?

Whether you are replacing an existing filter set or building a new fluorescence channel, send us:
- Microscope model or filter cube type
- Original filter set part number, if available
- Fluorophore / light source / camera or detector
- Required excitation, emission, and dichroic requirements

We will help check whether this filter set is suitable or suggest a stock or custom alternative.
