This highly versatile filter set is optimized for fluorophores that are excited by blue light and emit light in the green spectral region. The configuration uses a narrow excitation band to minimize background and a wide emission band for maximum signal collection. It is an ideal choice for commonly used nucleic acid stains and fluorescent proteins that utilize the 488 nm laser line or a broadband blue light source.
Filter Specifications:
- Excitation Filter (Ex): Bandpass 470/40 nm (transmits light from 450 nm to 490 nm)
- Emission Filter (Em): Bandpass 525/50 nm (transmits light from 500 nm to 550 nm)
- Dichroic Mirror (DM): Reflects 400-480 nm / Transmits 500-600 nm
Intended for use with common blue-excited, green-emitting fluorophores such as:
- Nucleic acid stains (e.g., dyes with Ex ≈ 483 nm, Em ≈ 501 nm)
- Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) and its variants (Ex ≈ 488 nm, Em ≈ 509 nm)
- Fluorescein derivatives and other dyes with excitation peaks near 490 nm
